Harry Metcalfe · Harry's Garage · ~600K (approximate; not re-verified this pass) subscribers

Harry Metcalfe is a farmer-turned-publisher who co-founded evo magazine in 1998 and served as its editorial director until 2013, before building the Harry's Garage YouTube channel around his own roughly 35-vehicle collection. He is unusual among collectors for actually using his cars — driving a Zonda 20,000km, taking a Testarossa to the Sahara and a Countach across Europe — and for publishing annual videos detailing exactly what the fleet costs to run. In 2025 he began publicly "pruning" the collection, selling several channel-star cars through Iconic Auctioneers at the NEC.

In 'Ferrari Testarossa refresh part 1' (Harry's Garage, ~2022) he states: 'I bought it at Silverstone Auctions for 54,000 pounds, which was a fair bit off market price at the time - was about 70,000' (1987 car, bought 2014, discounted because of an old repaired 'uneconomic repair'). Still owned (NC500 road-trip video 2025; 'staying' in his Nov 2025 NEC sale video), so no sale price.

no reliable figure — not estimated

Owned c.2010-2016 (in his 550 Maranello review he says 'about 2010-ish I bought a 550 Barchetta'). His April 2016 tweet confirms the sale ('Proceeds from the sale of my Ferrari 550 Barchetta have gone into buying a boat') but no purchase or sale figure was ever stated publicly.

  • no reliable figure — not estimated

In his Harry's Garage video 'Why I sold my Zonda and top tips for choosing the right car from the classifieds' (2019) Metcalfe says he bought the ex-Zonda UK press/demonstrator car in 2006 for 'in the two hundreds of thousands - 230,000 somewhere around there'; in his 2022 Late Brake Show interview he said 'it was 220,000 I think I paid for it'. The sale (brokered by Tom Hartley Jnr, completed 2012/13) had no disclosed price - he only says 'I made a bit of money on it' (press at the time, e.g. GTSpirit, confirmed no sale price was released).

How these numbers are made

Car imagery: our own licensed model-catalogue photography, rendered as monochrome plates; hover a photo for its credit. Where Harry Metcalfehas publicly stated what they paid or sold for, we use their figures and say so. Everywhere else, the figure is a Marque market-modelled estimate: the verified auction median for that exact model in its market at acquisition vs sale (or today). These are estimates of market movement during ownership — not statements of actual profit, and they ignore spec, mileage, modifications, fees and taxes. Cars we can’t price honestly show no figure.
